Course Tutor

Chris Arning is Founder-Director of Creative Semiotics Ltd.,  and Co-Founder of Semiofest a Celebration of Semiotic Thinking. He has led over 200 commercial semiotics projects and has over 30,000 hours of semiotics experience. He taught the MA on Brands and Meaning at Warwick University for 5 years and is a sessional tutor at the University of Creative Arts.

Chris is partly self-taught in semiotics and has qualified with an unconventional apprenticeship. You’ll be working with someone who knows what it’s like to be frustrated in semiotic learning. Chris is not just a semiotician but a creative, researcher and people person and he enjoys working with participants to create a fun and productive learning environment.

Course Coordinator

Pavla Hind is the course coordinator and overall go-to person for Chris and the course attendees. She handles enquiries, oversees candidates’ onboarding, distributes course resources and preparatory work, manages community fora and social media, and takes care of financial reconciliation.

Pavla is a versatile communications and corporate affairs executive with proven track and delivery record across various industries. She is an Allianz Group Certified Communicator (Munich, 2009). In 2018, her personal milestone year, she set up a communications studio The Grove Agenda Ltd. Based in the UK, Pavla provides consulting and executive services in communications, PR,  corporate affairs, and business support.

Her interest in semiotics dates back to her university years (she is a linguist by education). Pavla and Chris met through the Semiotic Thinking Group Chris set up on LinkedIn.
