Please read these Terms and Conditions of Service carefully and make sure that you understand them before you proceed to payment of the course fee.

The Course Description Page including the Booking Functionality and Payment Checkout is hosted by Podia; your access to, and use of these functionalities as well as the website is governed by Podia’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy which you can access via links at the bottom of this page. We recommend that you read those carefully.

Course Programme & Format

We provide you with details of the Course – it’s structure, content, and overall learning experience - on the Course Description Page. Based on the feed-back from previous Course graduates, the Course is under constant improvement, so when signing up for the upcoming cohort, you will benefit from the Course experience of those who have graduated before you.

We make reasonable efforts to update the information and content of the Course Description Page, however we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the information and content is accurate, complete, or up to date at any time.

Course Dates

The course takes place three times a year, in QI, QII and QIII. The exact dates are subject to change; in case a changed date is not workable for you, please read about your alternatives in Cancellations & Refunds below.

We typically offer places in the nearest upcoming course, but you can book your place in any later cohort if that’s more convenient. In such a case, please contact the Course Coordinator Pavla Hind at pavla@creativesemiotics.co.uk

Onboarding Process

Please read the Course Description Page carefully before you proceed to payment of the course fee.

In case of any outstanding questions, please contact the Course Coordinator Pavla Hind at pavla@creativesemiotics.co.uk

When you are ready to sign up for the Course, please proceed to Payment Page and Checkout.

Upon receipt of your payment, we will get in touch with you via email and confirm receipt of the course fee.

A tax invoice will be issued for your records.

To accommodate candidates from different time zones, we always offer two identical sessions. One cohort starts at 9AM London time, and the other one starts at 5PM London time. We will ask you to decide which cohort you would like to join and let us know.

A place will be booked for you in the cohort of your choice.

Shortly before the start of the course, we will send you preparatory reading, a brief questionnaire – a self-assessment of semiotics knowledge and Zoom invitations for your diary.

In the meantime, we are always happy to answer your questions via email.

Intellectual Property & Copyright

All the Course materials which you will receive during the seven-week learning process are Intellectual Property of Creative Semiotics Ltd and are protected by Copyright. You will be able to keep the Course materials after the Course, but they are for your personal non-commercial use only. The Course materials must not be modified, shared, copied, published and/or passed on.

How We Use Your Contributions and the Course Outputs

In order to promote the Course, we reserve the right to share extracts of your Course outputs to demonstrate the learning value and overall Course experience. This will never be done in a negative or derogatory way, but only in a celebratory capacity to appreciate your hard work throughout the course. By signing up for the Course, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, and distribute your content (including your name and image) in any and all media or distribution methods (existing now or later developed).

In addition, whilst we will not broadcast any of the Zoom recordings of the live seminars, we might take short extracts and photos just to show the course atmosphere.

If you are not happy with that then we ask for you to request specifically to be made exempt from any public posting.

As for the final group exercises (Code Maps), the copyright is jointly owned by Creative Semiotics Ltd and the creators as a collective. We believe that the Code Maps represent a permanent value to the Course Alumni and are a source of further learning, therefore we intend to make the Code Maps available in form of an archive for the Alumni network, of which you will become a member after you graduate from the Course.

By attending the Course, you grant permission to share the Code Map you contributed to as part of this network and to publish extracts of the Code Map more widely as part of course promotions as well as to share with future cohorts for inspiration/guidance.

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that sometimes the unforeseen might happen and you cannot attend the Course you signed up to for some good reason.

In such case we would appreciate if you could let us know at least 1 week prior to the first session, so we can allocate your place to somebody else from the waiting list and reorganise the working groups. In such case we are happy to refund the full price.

If however, you cancel within a week before the course starting it will be harder to fill your place anymore and may disrupt the smooth running of the group exercises, and in such case we will refund 75% of the price.

Once the Course has started, we will be unlikely to allocate the course place to anyone else, so there will be no refunds offered, but we will work with you and find one of the future Courses where your place can be allocated.
